Missions Committee
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Mission Committee is to inspire and provide an awareness of the mission outreach of the church so that each member may participate through prayers, concern, time, service, and financial gifts.
The mission outreach extends internationally to support African missionaries John Enright and Bill Bauson in their efforts to educate new pastors in Zambia and teach their people new occupational skills. In addition, money is being raised locally to support the digging of a deep well in eastern Africa through World Vision. The church also supports worldwide disaster relief through UMCOR.
Kairos Prison Ministry of Indiana receives support through local leaders by hosting a Kairos Weekend based out of the church. Several members are active in this prison ministry with the support of other local churches.
Locally, the Missions Committee actively supports the South Madison Food Pantry, Outfitters, Women's Alternatives, Operation Thanksgiving, Back to School Fair, Labor for Your Neighbor, Holiday Helping Hands and the Christian Center. Other social concerns of the community are supported on an as need basis.
The Missions Committee strives to fulfill needs with their time, talents and monetary gifts. The congregation generously responds when the call goes out to support those in need.
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." -Matthew 25:40
