Lamonte Kuskye, Minister of Music
Lamonte Kuskye is currently the Music Director at Pendleton Campus of First United Methodist Church Ministries, directing the Chancel Choir, leading hymns during traditional worship, and directing special services such as the annual Christmas Cantata. His full-time professional position is Choral Director at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana, where he has over 500 students in the program.
After being raised in the small town of Plymouth, in Northern Indiana, Lamonte attended Ball State University. He originally went to Ball State to pursue a degree in music, with aspirations of becoming a minister. While studying there, he felt the call to teach and has been ministering to youth in this capacity ever since.
He calls First United Methodist Church Ministries “home,” stating:
“I love the warmth and kindness of the people of our church. It truly feels like family at FUMC. Our church is truly Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors, so that all people may enter the Kingdom of God.”
He is proud to have served this church and the Pendleton community for more than twenty-two years.
